Which project I'm dropping, and why

Those of you in the EVE Online community have probably heard of the various things going on with licensing. As a result, I'm temporarily dropping my EVE Intel project off of my list of to-dos. More details below.

The main goal of my EVE Intel project was to support corporate and alliance intelligence and hiring by aggregating and displaying information gained through EVE Online's API system. The model I was working with would allow someone to provide an API key and the site would aggregate their information and provide it to other parties they specify (i.e. the people who might want to hire them). That person could see (depending on what kind of key was provided) various information such as ship skills, kills/losses, assets, or transactions. At a high level, the most up-to-date information would be presented and (where appropriate) broken down by region. The interface would then support drill-downs by "zooming in" on a particular region or getting time-series information about how their information has changed over various time frames.

For me, I was really trying to get myself to learn some PHP, and found that interacting with the EVE API was a good way to get started. Also, I plugged into the existing EDK to have a reasonably good start. While I enjoyed the project at the start (learning PHP was rather entertaining), it didn't have enough long-term to keep me interested while the API snafu was ongoing. So, I've put the project on hold until CCP figures out what it is they're going to do, and when that's done, I'll decide if it's worth continuing work on.
