Iron Warriors - TO WARRRR!
The Painting of an Army
This is the path to war for my Iron Warriors, and this year they will be at least partially painted...
The Iron Warriors have always been my fav army, and I have always wanted to have a completely painted army. So I am going to have things Burger King, or MY WAY! So here is the painting expierience and a quick overview of each squad as they come together.
The first of my companies is completely painted, based, and ready to go. Well that is what I thought, the only problem is that they do not have a heavy weapon in their squad, due to bad planning. Their weapons guy is coming along in group three, but here is the squad in all its glory...

The squad is led by its captain who, like all other members of the Iron Warrior command staff, has undergone fairly extensiave bionic augmentation. He marches to war weilding his custom combi-melta and a power sword along with melta bombs for those tank encounters.

The squad also carries a melta gun to deal with hard armor and large creatures, while the remaining troopers carry bolters and bolt pistols. The squad is normally mounted in a rhino, but the rhino will be posted in later photos, when I figure out how to paint tanks so they do not look like they are covered in sewage. So on that note, here is the rest of the squad...

Beyond that squad one will get a lascannon and a rhino, someday...
The next high point is my second squad. I am planning on painting the squads then coming back to do the basing all at once, so their bases are not complete. Here is a good shot of the second team...

This team is led by another of the technologically advanced traitors of the Imperium, but this captain weilds a mighty power fist instead of the dread array of melta weaponry. Suited for the counter attack role this captain is a dread in shooting as well as a monster in close combat...

The remainder of his squad wields bolters except for his specialists that use a lascannon and plasma gun. The plasma is still waiting on its stripes to be painted on and the lascannon needs to have the final detail work done, but here is the remaining shots of the squad.

So that is what I have at this point. The third squad is on its way up as is my warsmith/dreadnought. This will be my first trial at painting a tank since the sewer vindicationr instance... So wish me luck and look for future updates soon!
Iron Warriors for the win!
when dry pain the details in gold and yellow, then glaze the whole tank in 2pts devlan mud, 1 pt chaos black, 5pts water. this will make the tank look terrible but stay with me!
when dry, dry brush chainmail over the entire tank including the details, this will tie all the colors together and age the tank, finally i wash very watered down scorched brown onto small areas of the tank. and there you have it a tank that looks 10,000 years old
